Ask HN: How do you implement and monitor contract compliance in your products?

What are the standard practices to implementing and monitoring of legal contracts for different products across your org? Say, every user that joins the service should be an adult.

We currently have teams owning products implement the legal contracts by working closely with legal. And an internal audit team that does periodic audits to check the compliance.

What are other ways to achieve this? Has anyone tried having a central compliance team that owns all thing compliance to offload product teams?
