Ask HN: If you use a bot/AI to write your article, do you need to disclose it?

A recent HN discussion [1] about whether an article was written by a bot or not made me feel.. slightly deceived I guess? It wasn't proven to be a bot, but the accusation sowed a seed of doubt in my mind. It got me thinking about a deeper question: does it matter if a bot wrote it? Should we discount articles written by bots, and if so, on what basis?

I remember being hoodwinked by GPT-3 a few months ago [2] but the author disclosed the fact that he used AI to write it.

Something something Turing test. Curious to hear your thoughts.

what's GPT-3? I keep seeing it.
'The weather today in [city] is [sunny/cloudy/rainy]' is not even an article, and it's irrelevant who wrote it.

A full-fledged article written by a bot is BS. And if it were true, the author is the bot, not you.
