For folks who’ve founded, managed, or grown a remote team, what were some of the major challenges you’ve had to overcome?

Some examples that come to mind: international employment, timezones, communication, etc.

timezones. I am PST and most are overseas. We meet at 10am PST which is like 7pm or 8pm for them.

Getting meaningful status updates.

There are plenty of good communicators and plenty of good developers, but that mix of both is rare and even rarer are they both when you first hire them.
