Ask HN: Good present for young tech teen?

My girlfriend and I have started our Christmas shopping this year. My girlfriend has a cousin that I usually hang out with during family gatherings, he’s a cool kid that is now 13 years old and is into gaming, YouTube and technology. I want to buy him something that he can tinker around with. I know that he owns a few Raspberry Pis and takes programming classes and was wondering if HN has any good ideas for a present for such a kid?

serious: pi bits (gpio joysticks, analogue stick), alternative boards like beagleboard or a non-arm board like arduino clones. something to provide wireless comms. bluetooth usb dongle.

comedy: winrar licence printed and framed to post on twitter or mastodon.

Haha, I like the Winrar bit, I actually bought a license a few years ago for that but never thought of framing it. Thanks for the Pi bit ideas as well, I think that's a good direction to go in.
