Ask HN: Is Medium ok while I ponder if a personal blog is worth it?

Starting a personal website is not a great effort, but from a tactical point of view I'd rather see if it's worth it before having it collecting dust 6 months from now.

Knowing well all Medium downsides, would it still be worth it while figuring it out?

Alternatives?

Yeah it is fine. dev.to is another nice option. Has more vibrant community.

Sure it's fine, but if you want to have some fun with it, you can set up an FTP server and find ways to promote it to a more targeted niche :)
