As a Little Snitch and TripMode user, it seems evident to me that apps such as Little Snitch are in a dangerous category: people try it after hearing it talked about by the cool kids, dangerous enough to quickly get you an appointment at the Apple Genius Bar.

As more and more iOS and Mac apps leverage iCloud to remain in sync, mobility use cases are increasingly expected to “just work” by iPhone and iPad users, but it’s the under the hood things on MacOS that users don’t know the names of that can really send a user sideways.

This is suggested by the tools themselves which in recent years as the OS became more “online”, kept making it easier and easier to try to carve these necessary-enough services back out from the rules.
