We're witnessing the term "Democracy" take on a new meaning in US politics. I predict the term will retain its dictionary definition to those on the right (about the process) while those on the left will adopt the term as a catch-all for progressive policies and ideas.

Yes. I didn't add that caveat because it was about a US election. But I'll add an edit for clarity.
While the irony of claiming that "only a vote for <person> will save democracy" was apparently lost on their CEO, as a Canadian I have zero interest in receiving political emails like this from vendors. Doubly so when the company does something as mundane as expense-tracking.
