Judging by some of the replies I don’t believe that it was an innocuous discord about just “gardening, preps, seed saving, canning, alternative construction & greenhouses”
I cannot attest to the contents of the discord server, however the website is available at http://www.iceagefarmer.com/. Additionally, I think it is newsworthy due to having not seen a discord server shut down for misinformation previously.
The site starts with "secret courts issuing dns takedowns" and "#covid1984" on every page.
The content is stuff like "Climate alarmists–from the Pope to Rabbis to Greta–are calling for a Sunday “Green Sabbath,” forcing people to stay home in deference to Gaia. Now that people are used to perfect surveillance and enforced lockdowns, the stage is set for this truly Satanic inversion: worship of the creation, instead of the Creator, on a day chosen by the Catholic church"
Further scrolling: false flag conspiracy theories, undisclosed affiliate links for CBD products, and weirder and weirder content like "global AI surveillance system [...] being plugged in to the DoD’s AI weapons system, in a war being perpetrated against all of humanity" and how the government is stealing your children.
Hidden affiliate redirects to companies like "my patriot food supply"
The tweet replies are all absolutely bizarre (at least, anything more than just some kind of sad emoji):
> Its because they are putting hydrogel in the food, which is linked to nano, which is linked big tech sister of YTube and her DNA database, linked to the vack's which is linked to that frequency number thingy. U get the code?
> (((Communists))) always seek TOTAL control. That's why it's called totalitarianism.
If the website is still up what communications was banned?
Is Discord required to host content? If I was Discord, Inc. the last thing I would want on my website is a bunch of conspiracy nut jobs planning to take down the NWO.
I don't understand why people think they can require private entities to publicly disseminate their message for free.
If I submit content to Hacker News and they remove it because the administrators of Hacker News decided it is not a good fit for their website, can I sue them for violating my "RaIgHtS"?
It's hard to pick which piece of misinformation is the biggest offender. For example, the prominent discussion of "Global Solar Minimum" on each page. This scare text flies in the face of the current thinking of the scientific community.
From Wikipedia:
"The current scientific consensus, most specifically that of the IPCC, is that solar variations only play a marginal role in driving global climate change,[79] since the measured magnitude of recent solar variation is much smaller than the forcing due to greenhouse gases.[88] Also, average solar activity in the 2010s was no higher than in the 1950s (see above), whereas average global temperatures had risen markedly over that period. Otherwise, the level of understanding of solar impacts on weather is low.[89]"
I guess if you think the IPCC is a cabal of Satan-worshipping Communists, then this brief analysis is suspect. But show me anywhere a reputable study that links solar variations to "drastic climatic and geophysical changes to our planet. These include increased galactic cosmic rays (GCRs), seismic activity, and volcanism" as IAF claims.
That is a well thought out response. The kind of response I was trying to illicit from the parent comment. The parent commentor had one quote and a one word response that did little to expand the discourse here.
The scare text you are referring to:
> grand solar minimum:
a period during which solar activity diminishes, resulting in drastic climatic and geophysical changes to our planet. These include increased galactic cosmic rays (GCRs), seismic activity, and volcanism; the latter often results in a global reduction in temperatures (see "the year without a summer" -- and much more on the IAF wiki).
A piece from NASA(not technically a reputable study as you asked):
> But if such a Grand Solar Minimum occurred, how big of an effect might it have? In terms of climate forcing – a factor that could push the climate in a particular direction – solar scientists estimate it would be about -0.1 W/m2, the same impact of about three years of current carbon dioxide (CO2) concentration growth.

I think three years of climate forcing offset is a "drastic climatic and geophysical change". However it would be difficult to link GCRs, seismic activity, and volcanism to it.

They were kind enough to give the server admins a reason for their termination!
