The increasing number of people older than 65 dying on e-bike has been discussed for several years. Not sure how one can get around your view point it kill most tech like this, but we are talking about bicycles so anykind of victim blaming is possible.

That's alot of people for the Netherlands. in 2019 there were 661 traffic-related deaths. The relatively new e-bike is already 10% of all traffic deaths. E-bikes cannot become new death machines on cyclepaths. The cyclepath is for cycling and assisted cycling.
What about the cars? They have speed limits too.
