SEEKING WORK

Remote work preferable. Nomadic, currently in Hong Kong. I'm also interested in fulltime work and I am willing to relocate for the right job.

I've worked professionally with python, ocaml and erlang. I've worked in search ( http://bit.ly/ji-texsearch-opt , https://github.com/jamii/texsearch ), testing ( http://bit.ly/ji-fuzzer , https://github.com/jamii/ocamlcheck ), distributed systems ( http://bit.ly/ji-mealy ) and am making inroads into p2p ( https://github.com/jamii/dissertation , http://bit.ly/ji-telehash , https://github.com/jamii/erl-telehash ). I have a strong background in math (real analysis, probability, discrete maths) and computer science (randomized algorithms, AI / epistemic logic, machine learning).

I'm willing to work on anything interesting but my main interests are distributed systems and p2p networks.

Your link is dead.
Thanks for spotting that! (fixed it now)
Seeking work - full time PHP/Symfony or PHP/CI
SEEKING FREELANCER. Remote worker preferable.

I'm looking for a mobile web developer to help build some basic cross platform (iOS & Android) apps. Bonus points if you have experience with Titanium or Phonegap (to wrap the web apps in a native format so they can be downloaded from the AppStore).

Email me your portfolio at paul@thestartupfoundry.com with your hourly rate and I'll get right back to you.

SEEKING WORK

Bay Area resident, camped out in Buenos Aires through May so I'm looking for remote work. (Unless you're in Buenos Aires, I'd love to work in person too!)

Most recently I have been working on JavaScript-heavy applications to facilitate in-browser user-response testing of videos, photos, and websites.

I have also been working with RabbitMQ/AMQP and node.js as tools behind another spin on "a social webapp for [x]".

Email is in my profile. I look forward to hearing from you!

SEEKING WORK - Remote preferred

(Buzzword: Data Scientist)

I'm primarily interested in freelance work, but full-time is also a possibility, and I'm willing to relocate. I'm currently in the Bay Area.

I have several years of experience in data mining, statistics, and machine learning (doing everything from quantitative trading and pricing, to building recommendation engines and mining search engines). I pick up new languages and technologies quickly, though I work primarily with Ruby, Python, Java, R, Rails, and Hadoop. To use a buzzword, you can think of me as the prototypical 'data scientist' -- I love doing everything from building dashboards to display data (Rails, Sinatra, Javascript), gathering data and cleaning it up (Ruby, Hadoop), exploring and analyzing data for patterns (R, Python), and coding machine learning algorithms for production (Java).

Blog, contact, and more information here: http://bit.ly/iP3aeU

I like your blog
Just a note-- it's probably better not to have the "seeking work" option at all, or at least in another thread. It creates a lot of visual spam to sort through if you're looking for "seeking freelancer" positions.
I agree, I prefer the old format [1]. Keeping threads separate improve the conversation and reduce the noise. is it just me?

[1] "Who is hiring" "Who is hiring Remote" "Who is hiring Interns"

Actually, this format works out quite nicely. If you're browsing this thread and seeking work, you ctrl+f "SEEKING FREELANCER". Likewise, if you're seeking a freelancer, you ctrl+f "SEEKING WORK". Makes finding exactly what you need a breeze. And those responses that include neither of these terms are overlooked, for better or worse.

In order of preference: Chrome Extensions, jQuery, JavaScript, Python, CSS, PSD->Product/HTML, Screen Scraping, WordPress, Django, PHP.

ABSOLUTELY NO unpaid work, internships or revenue shares. Email in profile.

I'm also currently tutoring someone that would be very interested in doing PSD->HTML work under my supervision (it'll be good but slow work).
