Ever since godaddy decided to cast off their clients in droves by hunting and murdering elephants (to say nothing for their other exploitative advertising), I've decided to avoid them whenever possible.

I'm looking for a well designed, developer-friendly, slicehost-like, socially conscious service that would offer domain name registration.

Where to socially-aware people shop for domain names?

Edit: When I say "slicehost-like", I mean it in terms of their by-developers-for-developers culture, and not the specific services offered.
