I’m a developer and restaurant owner who created a restaurant delivery cooperative in Montreal, Canada. We’ve all been hearing the ills of the large delivery platforms for a while now and I wanted to throw my hat in the ring and see if it was possible to do something. Some colleagues and I quit our jobs towards the end of 2019 to start the project and we’ve been operational since around May.
We’re structured as a solidarity cooperative, meaning restaurants, employees (drivers, support, devs, etc.) and consumers are all members who can vote and take part in the profits of the venture (if any).
We have quite a ways to go before we’re a totally viable alternative to the other platforms but we’ve been having progress and positive feedback from our members. Looking forward to hearing your feedback and ideas.
I sure hope it takes off, because it looks like we're going to need this kind of services more and more.
I can't seem to be able to get back to the home page from here: https://radish.coop/en/restaurants . Also there's limited functionality on that page with adblockers enabled.
Thanks for checking the site out! Would it be possible to share details in regards to the functionality that is being blocked by your adblocker? We’re not running any ads and about the only thing that should maybe not work is Google analytics.
In regards to the home page, we’re looking to retire it and put the restaurants in the forefront, turning the other one into some sort of landing page eventually.
You're partially correct, in the sense the the adblockers don't appear to affect the functionality in fact. They block Facebook and Googe Tag Manager.
The issue, though, is still present in Firefox with privacy/adblocking addons disabled. It's the main navigation: nthing happens when I click on the navigation items: https://i.imgur.com/IJtQf4r.png
