Pluton was the god of the underworld/dead. Not necessarily the least ominous name...
Pluton, from the Greek, ploutous, 'wealth', as is the word plutocracy. Obviously 'Pluton' plays a role in the future of Windows as a management platform for human assets. In this context, we might think of the 'pluton' as a fundamental particle of a plutocracy maintained using computer technology.
Why would it be from Greek "ploutous"?

Pluton is already the ancient Greek name for the english "Pluto" (the god of the underworld).

Some more details from Tom's Hardware Guide: https://www.tomshardware.com/news/microsoft-pluton-processor...

In particular, Microsoft says that the the idea of Pluton was pioneered in the AMD-Microsoft co-designed chip for the Xbox One. Tom's Hardware also compares it to the AMD Platform Security Processor (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD_Platform_Security_Processo... ), which is AMD's CPU-embedded answer to Intel's chipset-embedded Management Engine.

Both PSP and ME have had several reported security vulnerabilities. I wouldn't be surprised if on AMD CPUs, Pluton is implemented as basically just reflashing PSP's firmware. As Microsoft is much more experienced at secure software than the AMDs and Intels of the world, I have a bit more hope about Pluton not introducing an accidental back door into my machine!
