Why is this being downvoted? I know I am not alone in wanting a technical overview of the role of CCP and GFW when consuming these API's from outside China... is this real innovation in silicon or just another way of offloading data (or a mix)?
It is good that Huawei is releasing software APIs for developers. However, despite them having the best phone cameras, I can't have one and be their customer. I would really want to though.
When they then famously were banned from accessing Google tech beyond AOSP, they stick to this previous policy instead of embracing open source software on their devices, supporting alternate ROMs like LineageOS or even making them the default instead of their seemingly average Android version.
(FWIW this bootloader lock policy happened few months after Honor (USA branch) gave away devices for ROM developers, if you want a model of intra-company miscommunication)
I was looking forward to publish apps on Huawei's AppGallery [1], but the requirement for identity verification [2][3] is a major turn-off, considering the increased risk of our personal data being misused by government entities. The same is true for Xiaomi's Mi Store.
From Huawei's developer site:
> HUAWEI AppGallery, HUAWEI's official app distribution platform, is the world's first app market to implement a developer identity verification system.
Because you buy into a platform and those platforms have to follow the rules regarding financial transaction,
hell even in the crypto currency markets you have schemes like Known your customers(KYC)
same if you want to do stock trades at least in the western Europe country i live in.

I even received some weird bug issues on my ROM ( https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/issues/1... ) that made me think they were actually trying to go this route, but nope.

Google Play seems to have this too, although their support page is unclear about who it applies to, and I have no personal experience: https://support.google.com/googleplay/android-developer/answ...
