I waffle back and forth on this myself. I have done some "take homes" and whiteboard tests and I have also told some recruiters that I would not. What I will say is that I don't recall ever doing a task or test that was actually directly related to the job description.
You don't have time to take a 30-minute quiz but you have time to do an entire take-home coding project? (asking as a recruiter)
My point is: to ace the test I need to prep for the test and that time is better spent on a take-home project.

Most tests I saw were between 1h30 or 2 hours.
