Ask HN: Does any Developer has already experience with the Apple M1?

I'm curious about your feedback. Personally I'm interested in the topic about which IDE's are working so far or you have tried.

Also very important, Virtualization. - What did you tried? - Which road blocks occur? - Is a form of Bootcamp available?

Don't have access to one, but I've seen people using XCode and VSCode in videos/posts (VSCode via Rossetta iirc). XCode was reported to be much faster in compiling (also someone compiled Rust and reported it as 2x as fast as in their Intel Mac).

Parallels and VMWare was announced support. Not sure if they already have it out, but Parallels was demoed during WWDC running Linux-on-ARM. Docker also made an announcement that it's coming soon.

That's why a personally hands-on, is so important. Most of the review sites / videos just mentioned that. But how does is work for a real developer, not a reviewer or journalist. :)

This still leaves a big question mark. What is supported and how far can you go with it. Things you can only say if you tried it once.
