Oracle Plans to Transfer Hudson IP to Eclipse (java.dzone.com)

This is a very clever move on Oracle's part.

Firstly, by inviting other companies to sit in governance, they did something Kohsuke couldn't do - call in favours from other large companies.

Secondly, they can use this tactic to ward off any fork of Oracle's product. Since if #1 succeeded, it means they are able to repeat this in the future.
