I thought oxygen was toxic if given pure...
It depends on the pressure. Astronauts in the Apollo program actually breathed 100% pure oxygen without any side effects
Except for that side effect of a big hot deadly fire.

What does "cell regeneration" actually mean? And how does lack of oxigen trigger this process? Isn't it simpler to temporary reduce levels of oxigen if that is what causes the so called regeneration?

The cellular changes sound impressive, but does this translate to actual youthfulness for the person? They left that part out, and it seems relevant.
