I think by their actions it's pretty clear that every decision they make is about growth and exactly none of them are about civility - unless they are afraid of losing users.
I thought their actions lately showed that they were willing to risk losing users in favor of what they thought of as civility. I'm not taking a position on whether that's good or bad, but just noting that they knew they'd piss off a lot of people.
