[–] shirro 15y ago ↗ From Hurricane Electric: "A utility failure is affecting much of Fremont, CA, USA, damaging some electrical equipment. We are currently working to restore power."https://twitter.com/#!/henet/status/66466691856601088

[–] justincormack 15y ago ↗ Dont they have backup generators? I thought all datacentres did, although I have known them to fail too... [–] drusenko 15y ago ↗ We used to be colocated at HE in Fremont. Real nice building. They have a track record of power outages going back several years.

[–] dfischer 15y ago ↗ Fremont keeps going out, this annoys me. I routinely have problems w/ Linode at this data center. :( [–] mauriciob 15y ago ↗ If you already had downtime at this datacenter, transfer your linode to another one. It will only take ~20 mins.My linode is in Newark and it has been a long time since I had the last problem there. Also, Linode is based on Newark. [–] reustle 15y ago ↗ I've been on linode for quite a while and never had issues with Newark. [–] dfischer 15y ago ↗ I didn't know you could transfer datacenters. I'd like to do that. [–] teoruiz 15y ago ↗ Linode's datacenter in London has "100% uptime" for me.Just a few times I had to reboot the Linode because of some weird I/O locking. [–] purephase 15y ago ↗ I recommend London as well. It has been rock-solid for me. [–] pilib 15y ago ↗ I too recommend London, especially if you're in Europe ;). [–] salsakran 15y ago ↗ Ditto. This is getting really annoying. Are there any other Linode DCs on this coast?

[–] quanticle 15y ago ↗ Interesting. Does the Fremont facility have inadequate backup generation/UPS?
