But friends are people we love, and things are mostly useless sh. Unless it's people loving (or "hating") one another there's nothing going on, really.

For people to get recommendations of friends, they must have friends using the app, so you have a strong network problem. Facebook solved that restricting the initial users to the students in Harvard. How are you planning to get an initial cluster of users?
