For complex current events, what primary sources of information do you read?

I usually wait, then, when the dust settles I use the usual suspects of google, youtube, and reddit to get a gist of the consensus reality of the thing. Nothing that happens outside my immediate life needs my immediate attention. Unless it's a new book from a favourite author, then I pounce.
