10 microgrammes is about 400 IU -- so a lot less than most people on HN self-report as regular dosage.

First, it's not "free". It's just not paid for by those who'll benefit from it.

Second, that cost could be paid - or not - by those who purpotedly stand to benefit from this program (the elderly). If you prefer care providers whose staff aren't defficient in Vitamin D, change your provider.

Third, who's to say these vitamins are going to be consumed, rather than resold?

The UK has become such a joke. Even when the so called conservatives run the government, it reminds me of China or North Korea.
