Sales and Ops Planning (S&OP): best practices repo?

I'm about to join a firm that wants to revamp its Operations processes & is assembling a multi-function team. I've done this type of work before, but it would be nice to know of some best practices before I dive in.

Hardware/software platforms, B2B, SKU count probably in the low thousands range.

Ideas?
