Hey HN, this is a particle detector developer by my friend Oliver Keller for his PhD at CERN. I've put together some kits so you can more easily build one yourself.

Previously discussed:

- CERN publishes instructions for building your own particle detector: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=23185665

The kit is a nice idea.

I have the parts to build the MIT Cosmic Watch, but have not put it together yet. I think there were two or three things left to source...and it ended up on the back of my bench, then on a shelf.

any tips for ALPHA detectors :)? Somehow, those are significantly harder to DIY than beta/gamma..
