I normally open VSCode directly from terminal using `code .`

Having a home screen for it would imply you're opening it, but not necessarily using it for editing right away. Is there a benefit to this, genuine question.

Hey there! The "homescreen" is also natively embedded and provides todos, snippets, & notes that are accessible across folders & workspaces. The homescreen dashboard might not serve you best in this particular use-case, however, maybe you wanted to jot down some todos etc. The homescreen comes to shine if you're a regular IDE/workspace user where you live in the code.
