Zero engineering effort has been put into this. I am sorry, but this is lame.
Had they constructed a shape that could float on the changing dunes, something that could charge into a medium that wouldn't degrade, this won't even last 6 months, then it would be interesting.
I think the title is setting us up here. I'm not sure the artist actually intended it to last forever. Art like this is more about making a statement, rather than making a feat of engineering.

edit, I don't think was even in the desert. The video is motion tracked. The artist is bad dancer with no butt hole.
