While a nice story my own experience with religion actually contributed to suicidal thoughts. And it's because of the risk of these "supernatural" experiences that I'm not a fan of certain drugs.
So good for him for changing his life and doing some good. But I wouldn't encourage others to put their trust in the unprovable, especially with all much baggage as Christianity.
