One of the best smartphones of all time. Somehow I found its first firmware (2.7.x?) much more usable than the 3.x to which it auto-updated. Particularly seems to be caused by lawsuits that led to removal of slide-to-unlock—like function.
Yeah, it was the best Samsung phone I've ever had, no crap just a great phone and screen.
Still to this day one of the more elegant smartphones I've seen.
I think S II was the phone that made samsung THE android phone maker. Before that, it was sony and lg and htc and samsung all fighting to figure this smartphone thingy out.

Anyway, didn't samsung just release security patches for S6?

I am surprised that to prevent ewaste, device manufacturers are not forced to provide more updates, or open source modules. A modern mobile is very capable - but you are limited to a couple of major updates, then that's it. Eventually apps stop supporting your version of android. Then inthe bin it goes - although the camera is great and it can playback 4K video.
