The problem: systemic racism is a thing, and whites and Asian Americans are in inherent positions of power in the United States.
The solution being proposed here: make the media those people consume flooded with anti-white rhetoric, amplifying racial anxieties. Any counter-speech would be suppressed by the media companies, making it completely one-sided, leaving the only avenue for correction being the legal system.
How can this work, and what's the reasoning behind it? And before people talk about fixing historical injustices, they aren't talking about speech that lifts up minorities. They're talking about anti-white hate speech.
The logic is that “white people are stupid” or “men are pigs”, while unkind words, are not associated with widespread historically persistent violence and systematic oppression. Does it hurt your feelings? Maybe. But the targeted groups they’re apparently focusing on are targeted for more than hurt feelings.
Facebook is used in Myanmar to incite actual violence against a minority, it's been years since I have read any positive news about this company, maybe it's time to just stop using it and shut it down.
To be clear, I wasn’t defending or promoting facebook. I agree they’re harmful. Just explaining the logic of not treating speech critical of white men the same as hate speech, because I didn’t find the prior explanation adequate.

I don't believe it will work either, I think we are more divided now than we were 10-15 years ago.
But Critical Race Theory is the underpinning behind the idea that not all racism is equal.
