Google's 'Cloud Print' service is shutting down soon (techspot.com)

I loved cloud print. Sad it or something similar didn't take off.

Using any Google product is very scary as they regularly shut many great services like Google Reader down. Disappointing.

Their help page completely fails to document how to use computers to act as printer servers for your hand-held devices which was my primary use case. The lack of help strongly suggests a blind spot to me: the continuing utility of the service. I also used it to print from a recalcitrant mac which refused to talk to the printer directly attached.

I'm sure there is a traditional lpr/cups path out for a Windows 10 host with use printer, to run a queue. Google doesn't seem to want to tell me about it.
