Ask HN: Any cool Wikipedia API projects out there?

I've been playing with the Wikipedia API for a while now. I've built a couple small apps that use it.

A couple things come to mind: 1. I'm amazed at how much data they make available (mainly, from a technical POV; for example, they have an open search API that you can use with JavaScript that can do real time searches) 2. The API is pretty tricky to navigate. It's doable, but boy oh boy, there are a lot of gotchas and the documentation is pretty lacking.

Would love to check out some other projects that make use of the Wikipedia API that people here may have made :)

Considering the whole site is run on donations and has a strong anti-ad policy, I think it's very consequent that they make everything available, without any "pro" tiers.
It’s not much but for Valutico.com the company description when hovering over a public company name (during the peer selection step of a valuation) is delivered via the Wikipedia API
Rad! Do you have a screenshot? Love to see what that looks like.
Sure thing here is Netflix https://cln.sh/JeBMco as seen if someone is logged in
Oh wow; very interesting. Simple. I like it. The open graph image on Wikipedia is different. Which image are you using for that preview?
