Just heard from a friend that Roblox has announced Series H funding and is planning to go public via direct listing on NYSE

Interesting, It looks like they want to avoid what happened with the DASH and ABNB IPOs.

Do we know when yet?

This is public; they submitted a "Notice of Exempt Offering of Securities" filing to the SEC today:

They even have a ticker: RBLX

It's interesting that Roblox features in Matt Levine's post for today (https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2021-01-07/the-ip...) in the IPO Pops section. The story seems to be based on slightly older reports from December.
