Looks like I won't be getting rid of my android phone anytime soon if this is true.
Probably won't be long before Google starts applying similar pressure.
Sad, but probably true.
On android you have the liberty to install 3rd party apps.
without push notifications they are severely limited in functionality, and third party push notifications are severely underperforming on Androids.
Sure enough, they outright banned it.
We are seeing an emerging system of privatized sanctions enacted by a collusive tech oligopoly.

Safari allows people to view any content they want on the Web. I wonder if they will ever move to only allowing users to go to specifically allowed websites?

It's not tolerant to tolerate intolerance, it's suicidal.

Insurrectionists don't like it? They can build their own internet, their own web browsers, their own mobile phones, cell towers, power generation, power lines, etc. It's a free country. But we all know they can't do any of that.

So yeah: don't expect peaceful, civil people (aka Democrats) to help Trump's insurrectionists crash the system and overthrow the government.

> It's not tolerant to tolerate intolerance.

If I find your views intolerable, what happens now?

Well, you could always storm the Capitol again and try to overthrow the government.
What happens if peaceful, civil people think the insurrectionists crashed the system, overthrowed the government and installed Biden?
We're just going to cut to the chase and build our own country.
Your guy couldn't even build a wall, so good luck with that.
It's not a trump thing. And its already happening. People are seceding from the media, corporations, monetary system, education system, and government (but not provacatively).
Ok, so who gets to decide what is labeled as intolerance?

The person who decides has all the power because that person decides who can speak and what they can say.

Consequently, when there exists such a person (or group of persons), the society is no longer a democracy but a dictatorship.

Very hard for some people to grasp apparently.
Hint: the intolerant people are the ones violently storming the Capitol because their guy didn't get elected. That's the actual "dictatorship" threat.

"Democracy" is when the person with the most electoral votes assumes office on Jan 20th. The US is a democracy, and Biden is your next President.

they will just revoke certificates for disallowed websites and safari will have no way of showing them.
Why would anyone expect Apple to distribute an app that allows insurrectionists (read: domestic terrorists) to organize?

Apple is not the government and has no obligation to support enemies of the state.

To downvoters: Parler was literally founded by one of the insurrectionists (Dan Bongino). He also helped found Rumble, a YouTube "alternative".

Also, Apple already banned Gab, which has basically the same audience/purpose as Parler.

People who wish to stand up for fair elections are not terrorists.
This is after Twitter banned a large amount of conservative accounts so they are forced to move to Parler.
We need to end the app store monopoly and break up big tech. When people's voices are silenced violence becomes inevitable.
I'm afraid it's too late, the democrats have won and they don't have such interest.
They already censor, Apple just wants them to censor differently...
