Just thinking about this on a universal scale is mind blowing. Perhaps this is how dimensions are produced? Everything is just swirling around something else until if finally collapses in on itself.
The edge-on plot shows this dwarf galaxy coming in at a grazing incidence to the disk of the Milky Way. I would be curious to know how close the sun came to it as it did so, and in those times when it passed through the disk.
