Well, that is terrifying. On top of not hoping to die because your lungs stop working, now you have to worry about long term brain injuries. Hang on until inoculation gets to you.
>"So far, our results suggest that the damage we saw may not have been caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus directly infecting the brain," said Nath. Instead the damage may be due to the body's inflammatory response to the virus, he explained
Isn't this severely biased by the fact that autopsies are only carried on people who are dead, most likely due to COVID?

In other words, it seems possible that the brain damage happens mostly in people who end up dying from the disease, but that brain damage never or rarely happens in people who are not hospitalized.

Would you make the same argument about someone who incurred a TIA (or a series of them), but did not even visit the hospital, let alone get admitted?

More importantly, it became understood by early summer that a clotting dysfunction was the root cause of many (most?) of the system failures (respiratory, renal, hepatic, circulatory, etc) associated with covid. "Covid toe" is a symptom experienced by many who did not seek treatment.

Just because you didn't notice any damage (or didn't notice it anywhere other than your toes) does not mean that it didn't happen.
