Food is a necessity for all. Everybody should be able to prepare something simple at least. Even if it does turn out to be a boring meal if you have to eat that same simple thing every day, it will keep you alive while you learn to cook something better and tastier.

I the same thought process underlies cooking for yourself, as doing your own home improvement, fixing your own car, etc. - If you want to do it right, then do it for yourself.

Why is this totally irrelevant article on hackernews?

The title line did not do the article any justice.

Personally, I love the contents of the article.
