Ask HN: Which Lego to have fun and teach a 8 years old?

I saw this cool video of a LEGO car climbing obstacles (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwHHErfX9hI) and was wondering if anyone has experience with teaching young kids (8 years old) fysics with LEGO. Any advice?
