I truly believe that there is a lack of good notes app for Mac. Or maybe for other systems as well...

1. Mac native app - just don't like it.

2. Bear - good, but I don't want the markdown highlighting, I don't want to use markdown

3. ...? anything else?

Regarding your app: haven't checked it but the landing should be fixed for desktop, it's not centered, it's made for mobile but there are desktop users too! :)

Drafts [0] is my current workhorse for all things text. It's where all text starts for me (comments, emails, long iMessage/FB/SMS messages, etc). It's go great mobile and desktop clients (native). You can use MD or you can pick from one of the other editors they support. I came to Drafts from NVAlt + SimpleNote for mobile access and it's been great. I've tried a few other "hip" note apps (notion, obsidian, etc) but they either have bad or non-existent mobile apps or are just too heavy for what I want. If Drafts could handle pictures/files I would be over the moon. I understand some of their reasoning behind not doing that but it means that I currently pay notion monthly so I can use it for 1 project that needs, at a minimum, for me to be able to put pictures inline. (Note: I want Drafts to "manage" these files/photos, I know I can add in a MD photo and it will show in preview but I want to be able to store the photo on the note itself).

Hi, We’ll add this to the design pipeline. The site is intentionally left aligned as we felt it worked best for readability and responsiveness. However, as you pointed out, the left aligned, one column design is a little unconventional.
This looks really cool and one of the first things that could pull me from Drafts but it requires 11.0 (Big Sur) and I don't usually update until the 3-6mo mark. A clean, native ideally, desktop and mobile app are a lot harder to come by for notes apps than I would have ever expected (or at least the ones that interest me).
Hi, We really wanted to support pre-Big Sur but there are just too many new APIs that only appear Big Sur onward. Take context-menus and widgets for example. In the spirit of keeping things clean and minimal on the codebase, North moved to focus on iOS14 and above. However, we’ve noted your point and have added it to the pending features list.
All the phone images look about the same, couldn't really see the flow of the features. The site is also highly mobile-optimized to the point I might be better off looking at it on my phone. That's fine if it's only a mobile app but there's a Mac version.
Hi, Duly noted. We’ll add this to the design pipeline.
North is FREE to try. Please check-out the app over the site.
Great to see a Notes solution that is:

-Multi Platform

-iCloud storage based

-Subscription OR “buy forever”

Now, I can’t tell from first glance if:

1) attachments are possible? (Like apple notes)

2) passcode protection for notes is possible? (Like apple notes)

3) notebooks (groups) are possible? (Like one note)

Hi, on attachments, you can currently use North with inline images. We are considering other formats at present.

We haven’t added passcode protection as yet but this could be introduced if requested.

North works on a different paradigm when it comes to grouping. Notes coexist in many groups at the same time. This makes your data much more nonlinear. You have many perspectives and paths to access your content.

Looks good, but... Why is it geolocked? I can't download it in my County.
Hi, This has been updated. You could try now.
