Embarrassing is the word. If they can't host a website without AWS they shouldn't be allowed to run one. Also, fuck these Facists. I wouldn't work with them.
"Value" is quite subjective, no? I don't think it makes sense to completely write off demand for something because you don't understand the appeal. Don't kid yourself, there was (and still is) a considerable user base hungry for the service Parler provided. Something else will inevitably meet that demand.
There's no positive value to society in giving a commercial platform for communication of the type and to the people most frequently found on Parler. There are plenty of platforms for right-leaning conversation already, including Twitter and Facebook, for people who can communicate without resorting to racism, hate, sedition, and calls to violence.
There's demand for spare organs for cash; there's demand for murder-for-hire; there's demand for child pornography. Just because there is demand for something doesn't mean it should be fulfilled.
The search for a universal measurement of value (or even "positive value for society") has not yielded any results afaik, so some people are going to disagree based on their own morals.

Just because we've hit a point where enough people in the country want a platform to share their Nancy Pelosi torture fetish erotica doesn't mean there needs to be a platform to do so. I don't see why anyone should care about who is "hungry" for that.
I feel crazy in this world, have we all forgotten that one can simply hook up a box to the internet and have it available to millions of people worldwide? Or hook up a couple of boxes together for availability and scaling? What about signed messages?
About 3 sentences down, you can see him say "I am an optimist. It may take days, it may take weeks but Parler will return and when we do, we will be stronger."
I also "feel crazy in this world" but only because so many of us only seem to reading the clickbait headlines.
He also claimed the day before they were shut down (I read it right off his blog) that they had planned for this eventuality and it would only take 12 hours to be back up and running after Amazon shut them down.
Of course I knew that was bullshit right away. It also seems his company made several false claims in their lawsuit against Amazon. So I'm just saying don't take anything the Parler CEO says at face value. But he may be telling the truth this time, who knows.
"The pirate bay, the most censored website in the world, started by kids, run by people with problems with alcohol, drugs and money, still is up after almost 2 decades. Parlor and gab etc have all the money around but no skills or mindset. Embarrassing.
The most ironic thing is that TPBs enemies include not just the US government but also many European and the Russian one. Compared to gab/parlor which is supported by the current president of the US and probably liked by the Russian one too.
First time tpb got shut down was because a Mexican gang wanted some cash. Took a day to move. Second time was when the USG forced Sweden to send 50 cops and even arrest the lawyer. Took 3 days to get back online, 1.5 days was spent to get drunk and party."
