What a sad and tragic end.
They got to live an absolutely fantastic and long life doing what they loved doing, being successful in all the right ways. I can only try to imagine what that must feel like. Life endings are a tragedy per se, but this one doesn't seem particularly traumatic as these things go. Most of us will die exactly like this.
Agreed, from king of the jungle to a concrete box.
My wife and I went to Vegas to see Sigfried and Roy many years ago. We were seated in the theater when they announced that the show had been cancelled and we'd be getting refunds and free drinks. We tried again a few months later (we lived in LA at the time so Vegas was easy to get to) and the same thing happened again. We tried a third time and finally got lucky. It was worth the wait. What an amazing show! We were actually planning to go see it again when Roy had his tragic accident and the show closed for good. :-(

RIP S&R.

My wife and I also went to the Mirage, had S&R tix, and were seated in the theater when when they announced that the show was cancelled. The substitute was a fantastic live performance by Bill Cosby, the memory of which is tarnished now for obvious reasons. I'm sad that I never got to see them live.
I’m not a huge fan of their style of magic (big props, theater, etc), but if I had to pick a performer in that style to see it would be them.

They did one final performance many years after Roy’s accident. It’s a very interesting performance to watch: https://youtu.be/tj8vfGDrYKI
