I hate people who talk politics in work. Say whatever you want. The employee talked politics.

Thanks. After the humiliation of getting fired, I would never want to work at such a company ever again. That's my opinion.

The article is obtuse.

Jewish employee warns coworkers in Slack about nazis at the Jan. 6th protest in DC. Some other employees complain about the characterization of the protestors/rioters/insurrectionists/nazis/whatever and contact HR. Jewish employee is fired. Cue backpedaling by GitHub after internal protest by other employees over firing.

(btw, there definitely were neo-nazis present outside and inside the Capitol, ex 1: https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/10/politics/man-camp-auschwitz-s...)

> He posted the message on January 6th, the day of the insurrection in Washington DC, as rioters associated with neo-Nazi organizations stormed the Capito

The problem I have with tabloid like sites like The Verge is that they just make statements as if it's obvious fact. I've loosely followed the attacks on the capitol but I've never heard anything credible that this was a neo-Nazi organized riot and the article never establishes this claim

The firing seems extreme but whether it's the word Nazi or Commie being thrown around, it sounds like a pretty unhealthy work environment

It wasn't neo-Nazis that stormed the capital, but QAnon/MAGA. They're distinct groups. The Verge definitely has a reporting bias here because it's easier to clickbait about the former.
