When you close eyes how vividly can you imagine landscapes, objects, concepts?

Have you done anything to improve those skills (practicing) or you have born with it? What is the level of details you can imagine?

don't improve your imaginary reality, you would get lost in whats real if done good enough. use computers/paper/materials. I mean, you can't forecast your subconscious.
I only see black. Some people do so.
I have noticed my ability to visualize things improves when I both read more and watch video less. I have also experimented with memory palaces before, which also seems to help build the visualization skill.
I can only imagine things when I feel safe and relaxed. Otherwise it's just dark there. As a child, I tried to develop my imagination and it worked. Never tried later :)
I can visualize very vidily with my eyes open or closed. I haven't done anything intentional to help this. Reading and using my imagination as kid probably helped. I don't know that it's helped me in life though - just a worthless 'skill'.
What is your line of work? I could imagine it very helpful in design, invention, machining, art, music ... if you could imagine something before doing it. I do not have it but I think it is super-power if used correctly.
I'm a developer. The other side of it is that I get told what to build, even if I see a better approach.

I do think up inventions, maybe one every other month. They are usually taken already or would not make enough money.

I still think you are lucky, for me you are like a Superman who never attempted to fly. Ability is there, you know you have it, but you stayed on the ground as you do not see the point of flying :).

Maybe you just need to find a way to utilize it better?
