Trapping the Back key is a permanent turn-off. (I'm using Brave)
This looks great, and obviously the website does one thing well too. One of the entries is for Bunch [1] which is something I spent years hoping to stumble upon only to do so now when I've moved to Linux. Oh well.

The website is a disaster. Fucking with the back button to trap you there, INSTALL THE APP!!! popups- how hard would it be to use wordpress, or just a static site?
Does it have a cookie banner and email newsletter modal too?
The website does not do anything well except annoy me with popups and a broken back button.
I loved that blog, but it's been stalled for ages now. No new posts in a year(ish).
Good point.

I have a tendency to focus on new-to-me information on a site of this nature, and not notice time since the latest post.

Both are important, although new-to-me is more important.

All intentionally. The blog did its one thing well and there was no more left to be said.
Ironic that this of all sites has a "install the app" banner. I liked the premise but left immediately when that popped up.
I don't see the banner thanks to uBO, but pumping links traffic through Tumblr is a red flag for me.
don't they use Tumblr as the blog-engine?
Yeah this is a Tumblr blog with a custom domain. Not sure I understand the gripes from the other posters.
I don't either. No pop ups and the back button works fine.
Same here but I'm using noscript so I assume that's why.
OTW has been in my RSS feeds for a few years. Definitely one of my favs. The maintainer has had reduced output for a while, due to some health issues (used to be three cool finds per day).

I’ve found a lot of slick command line utilities here. It’s worth going through the backlog. I hope the maintainer is able to get back to the steady stream that initially drew me in.

For those put off by Tumblr throwing a banner, ignore the bs of that platform and enjoy the content. There’s some gold to be found.

Interesting, but don’t like that the site hijacks my browser back button
