I hope that to current Google employees "Don't be evil" does not entail damaging traditions of criticism, either inside or outside the company.
I think David Deutsch argued somewhere that damaging traditions of criticism is the thing most deserving of the word "evil" that he could think of (because all problems are caused by lack of knowledge, and all knowledge is created by conjecture and criticism, if you go along with Popper's epistemology).
