Ask HN: Does knowing the author of an idea help or hinder its acceptance?
So I'm curious what this community thinks about how much knowing "who" had an idea affects the progression of that idea through your organization. Is it possible to find truly great ideas when the author of it might be a "lower rank" than someone else with a mediocre idea? i.e. Your boss shares their idea with the company the same time you do. On the flip side, is the authority of the idea author a requirement to vet ideas the way knowing how much it might cost would be?
Looking forward to the discussion! :)
