HomeJoy. HomeJoy. HomeJoy. Needed right now. I still can't get over the fact that it failed. The sheer craziness of hiring independents over simply acting as a matchmaker platform and connecting companies with availability with people who need help still stuns me. The lawyers should have told them...but they seemed more interested in a simply <make money> role rather than an advisory one. Bring it back, focus on the Super Zips, encourage people to incorporate and serve as the lead generator...Care.com for the Home....simple.
What about Thumbtack, Angies, Handy, Yelp and HomeAdvisor?

What did Homjoy do that these guys aren't?

Tidy gave it a shot for a while and has pivoted to SaaS. They also used contactors. (edit: looks like they are still cleaning with contractor also)
