I posted this because I was recently in Oregon (after the election mostly) in a heavily republican area. On the radio (I only listened because I was curious) they were still talking about down-ballots not matching up and how the election was stolen. This was after major GOP party leaders (except Trump) had already agreed Biden won the election fairly.
There is a lot of broken news out there. And it's not just fake news on Facebook or fake news on esoteric websites. The problem is that this fake news is being rebroadcast by people that still read and believe this shit.
Wanting to investigate the election irregularities that occurred in this election is not automatically "broken news" or "fake news" just because you don't want to hear it.
To have a functioning democracy, you MUST have free and fair elections, and one part of being fair is to insure all parties are able to investigate problems.
OP flagged, as it should be. This belongs on Facebook / Twitter / etc, and doesn't meet HN contribution rules.
Just because the party leaders agreed doesn’t mean that it’s true, like Mitt Romney said “an audit won’t satisfy them, only telling them the truth will”. Mitt Romney doesn’t know and the truth is we may never know, but it’s just as incorrect to confidently claim “free and fair” as it is to claim “stolen”.
Both parties at least agreed that they didn’t want to set the precedent of the other party doing audits every 2-4 years, that much is certain.
