The only time I ever used the GameStop trade-in program was when my parents gave me a copy of the Tron Movie videogame for Christmas (didn't save the receipt), the next day I immediately walked to GameStop, traded it in, unopened, for the 5th anniversary edition of Oblivion that I had seen my sister playing a couple days before.

On the one hand, 20 to 40 dollars in monetary value was lost, on the other hand, nothing of value at all was lost.

The moral of the story is: don't double down on a failed proposition, get yours before its too late.
