Ask HN: Spanish text appended to Amazon automated mail

1 points by smtpserver ↗ HN
I have refunded my order on Amazon.co.uk and received a confirmation email with the following subject line: "Important Information about your Amazon.co.uk Order #205-[redacted]-[redacted]q ahorita estoy q me quedo dormido escribiendo o en meido proceso de lo cansado q estoy"

At the end of the message they write that "Please note: this is an auto generated e-mail and we cannot read your answers reply."

So how did this funny subject line get there?

It looks like es-mx, but I'm not 100% sure. [Hi from Argentina!]

> en meido proceso

That looks like a typo, it should be "medio" instead of "meido", but it may be a local idiom.

Thank you. The typo could be evidence for human interaction (maybe typing in the wrong text box) despite the "auto generated e-mail" warning.

The order is 'Dispatched from and sold by Amazon' by the way.

It's strange, because I'd expect that someone can take a look and type something in the body of the message, not the subject.
